Overview

Wine enthusiasts and corporates who are supporters of Lindhorst Wines are invited to participate in a novel concept. An investment of R12,450:

• secures a 3 year allocation of scarce top quality wines from our best barrels - “Partners’ Choice” - 24 bottles plus a Magnum.
• gives 10 nights in a magnificently finished two bedroom/two bathroom guest cottage on a wine farm in theCape - with stunning views.
• includes lunch or dinner and wine with the farm owners and/or winemaker each time they stay at the cottage.
• keeps participants up to date with developments at their winery.
• delivers wines anywhere in South Africa at no extra cost.
• gives full access to a working farm and winery.

The Offer

Participants are offered a novel and in some ways, unique, opportunity to have a direct “stake” in a family-owned wine farm in the picturesque Paarl Valley in the Cape. Its first vintage was 2002. The offer is intended to create a feeling of loyalty to the farm and a sense of exclusivity and pride in offering friends or associates their own quality wines with unique labels. For purposes of this document, participants will be referred to as “Wine Partners”. This offer can be adapted to cater for shipping costs, duties and taxes for any Wine Partner wanting the wine delivered outside of South Africa. Please ask.

For each of the 3 years, Wine Partners are allocated 24 bottles plus a Magnum. The Lindhorst Farm produces the following red wine grapes on its 18 hectares of vineyards:

• Shiraz 50%
• Merlot 22%
• Cabernet Sauvignon 25%
• Pinotage 3%

Each year we determine the ideal blend that goes to make that special barrel selection for the Partners’ Choice blend. Only 1200 bottles were produced in 2003. Wine Partners may elect to have all or any part of their annual allocation in Partners’ Choice or any other of the wines on release at the time. Other wines you may wish to select from are our Statement, a Shiraz dominated blend and some single varietals. A Partners’ Choice Magnum will only be available from the 2004 vintage.

Quality and price are pitched at the Super Premium category – with Partners’ Choice being valued at R150 per bottle. Production is limited - initially total cellar production was only 2000 cases, growing as demand dictates to 4000 cases per annum.

The accommodation offered is on a self-catering basis in a two bedroom, two bathrooms fully equipped and serviced cottage. The cottage on the farm has magnificent views of the Valley and mountains and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The 10 nights must be used within 3 years of the initial investment.

Self-catering is easy with the farm being within 10 minutes of the many supermarkets, shops and restaurants of Paarl. Franschhoek, 20 minutes away, boasts many of the Country’s top restaurants. By arrangement, the cottage can be stocked with provisions and a maid can be provided to assist with food preparation.

The owners and staff will give advice on places to visit in the area. Wine Partners will also get a comprehensive tour of the farm and winery. Taste next year’s vintage from the barrel! They can walk freely around the property and are encouraged to participate in farming activities. Included in the package is a traditional lunch or dinner at our home with a selection of local wines.

Distribution

Lindhorst Wines will ship the wine to your nominated address in South Africa as per your instructions. Wine Partners are notified through the Newsletters as to when the wine will be available and are encouraged to visit the farm to collect their wine, however, delivery in South Africa is part of the package and included in the initial cost. A delivery service is available to all major centres in the world and quotes can be provided on request.

The main aim of this offer is to attract those wine lovers who wish to get closer to the wine industry through participation in a family-owned establishment producing quality wines. This offer may only cover a three-year period, but we seek to create relationships that go way beyond that.
