Mark and Belinda Lindhorst bought the farm in 1996. Mark, a former auditor and management consultant, brings his business acumen and passion for wine to the farm and wine marketing business.
Belinda, a former teacher, helps with the owners’ hand-on approach. The business has expanded to include a winery, out-sourced restaurant (Harry's) and self-catering cottage.
A dynamic management team help Mark and Belinda run this ever-growing business where the objective is to provide a unique wine related experience in the beautiful environment of the Paarl winelands. Enthusiastic workers on the farm look forward to being involved in a housing project that is supported and expedited by all at Lindhorst Farms.

A Visit to Lindhorst Farms
Introduction
Mark and Belinda enjoy welcoming both local and international visitors to the farm. We can tailor make a day out to suit you and outline an example of such here.
The Welcome
On arrival, visitors will meet the owners and key members of the team. While sipping a refreshing glass of South African bubbly, they will be given some background views that the Paarl Valley has to offer (weather dependant).
The Vineyard Experience
Each season brings a different activity in the vineyard, although at certain times the vines are dormant. Visitors are invited to walk through the vineyards and experience what is happening at the time. In February it's harvest time. Join in and pick grapes - all help welcome at this busy time. In August we are pruning so please join in. At any time of year there is a story to tell about the vines.
The Wine Cellar
Making wine involves various processes from the time grapes are brought to the cellar until they are left to mature in oak barrels. In February production will be in full swing in the cellar. At other times these processes will be explained while walking through the cellar. The barrels are an experience on their own. Tasting from different barrels highlights the effect of oak from different forests and different manufacturers. Just being in a barrel cellar is special.
Footstomps
For those visitors in late February or Early March who want the real experience, we can arrange that they crush grapes the old fashioned way. We have done this for numerous visitors and it is a memorable experience.
Lunch with a View
Harry's restaurant overlooks our Shiraz vineyards and the whold Paarl valley. The surrounding mountains are magnificent. The food is good country cooking presentd by friendly and efficient staff.
Barrel and Blend Competition
Lindhorst Wines focuses on its Shiraz dominated blend. Each year many possible "recipes" are created and tested before the final blend is decided. Visitors will be taught how the blending process works. They are given the basic measuring equipment and samples of wines drawn from the barrels that day. They work in teams to create a number of their own "recipes" and submit their favourite to the "judges" who decide on the day's winning blend. Bottles with commemorative labels can be made up if required.
The Cost
Further details and a costing of the day's activities can be provided on request.
